What makes Country Meadows one of the best independent living communities in Pennsylvania and Maryland

When reaching retirement age, seniors have many options to consider to optimize their senior living experience. From independent living amenities to assisted living and personal care, rehabilitation services and the ability to remain active in social circles, there are many factors that seniors look for to make their final decision. Our goal as one of the best independent living communities is to make that choice and the transition to retirement community living easier. In keeping with our Home Sweet Home promise, we work every day to make our residents feel right at home.

Here, we’ll detail why Country Meadows is commonly referred to as one of the best independent living communities in Pennsylvania and Maryland – by residents, families, co-workers and industry leaders.

A family focused community

The history of Country Meadows is rooted in family. In fact, all of our campuses are family owned and operated. Founded in 1982 by the late Pennsylvania Governor George M. Leader and his wife Mary Jane, the Leader family has always been committed to giving residents a lifestyle that allows them independence, individualized care and a high quality of life. Because we are a family-owned community, we have the ability to focus on our residents’ needs in a way that a larger corporation may be unable to. Our intentions are always to provide quality care with compassion and respect for our seniors and our coworkers.

We often get feedback from our residents and their families, as well as our coworkers, that our family values are what makes us one of the best independent living communities. Our residents and our coworkers see each other as an extension of their own families. And part of our mission is to continue to instill those family values in our communities no matter what challenges our world is facing.

Anytime-access to medical care

A unique aspect within our communities is that we’re able to offer 24-hour access to registered nurses in case of medical needs or other related services. We understand that emergencies can happen at any time of the day or night and that even our most independent residents need fast access to medical attention in the case of an accident. Our residents can rest assured and enjoy life to the fullest knowing that help is available to them at any time.

Our coworkers also receive education on how to provide elevated care. Our push for continued learning is something we believe the best independent living communities have in common, and it helps our coworkers stay in tune with the latest trends in the industry. These topics have included new methods of approaching assisted living and personal care, memory support exercises, and new fall prevention technology.

A wide range of senior living options

Retirement community living opens the door to a range of services for any level of care. We’re able to offer many different services for our seniors because of our comprehensive approach to senior living through our campuses. While we are considered one of the best independent living communities in our area, we do not solely offer independent living. We also provide elevated care through assisted living and personal care services, skilled nursing and rehabilitation, restorative care and memory support. In offering so many senior living options, we’ve opened our campuses to be able to handle most medical needs and for our residents to be cared for by knowledgeable coworkers no matter their situation.

Our history of being recognized as one of the best independent living communities

Throughout our history of serving seniors in Pennsylvania and Maryland, we’ve been honored with several awards in recognition of our approach to retirement living. Not only are we considered one of the best independent living communities for residents, we’ve also been awarded multiple honors as one of the best places to work. Other accolades have included the Argentum Best of the Best-Excellence in Senior Living award, the Best Nursing Homes for Short-Term Rehabilitation award from U.S. News as well as many “best-of” recognitions within the counties where our communities are located.
