Country Meadows will open new retirement community—Forks in Easton—in summer 2016

By: Country Meadows | Uncategorized

Country Meadows Retirement Communities is eager to open the doors in June 2016 to its 11th senior living community and the third in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. Located less than five miles from the New Jersey border, the new campus in Forks Township of Easton is expected to meet the needs of seniors from the Garden State as well, particularly those enticed by Pennsylvania’s tax-friendly status.

The 21-acre Forks in Easton campus is receiving its finishing touches, and the Country Meadows staff will soon be on hand to welcome its first residents to their new home, nestled amid the natural beauty of a quiet, country neighborhood. Within an easy drive of Lehigh Valley’s cultural, recreational and entertainment venues, the campus is also conveniently situated within an hour or two of Philadelphia, the Poconos and New York City.

Country Meadows of Forks in Easton will offer retirees a selection of lifestyle and care levels: independent living, personal care and assisted living, and memory support services. This enables us to continue to care for seniors in our community if they ever need daily assistance with personal needs or memory care support. Unlike many retirement homes, all Country Meadows apartments are rented, month-to-month with no buy-in fee. For couples with different care levels who wish to remain together in the same apartment, we can often accommodate their request and even offer them a special rate. See the latest news about this Easton retirement community or request more information or schedule a visit to see the progress yourself.

Pennsylvania is tax-friendly and senior-friendly
Pennsylvania, with the fourth-largest percentage of people 65 and older, is known as one of the most tax-friendly states for seniors, according to Kiplinger, the business and finance publisher. The Keystone State is one of several states that offer retirees generous exclusions from state income tax on many sources of retirement income, including Social Security, public and private pensions, 401(k)s and IRAs.

Rooted and flourishing in Pennsylvania

Nine Pennsylvania cities are now home to Country Meadows retirement communities—Easton, Allentown, Bethlehem, Hershey, Lancaster, Mechanicsburg, Pittsburgh (South Hills), Wyomissing and York (South and West). And, we’re equally proud of our southernmost community, located in Frederick, Maryland.

Country Meadows was established more than a half-century ago when its founders, former Pennsylvania Governor George M. Leader and his wife, Mary Jane, recognized that Pennsylvania had a substantial population of seniors in need of caring, comfortable senior retirement homes. Today, the Leader family continues to provide high-quality care at a reasonable cost through well-trained and highly motivated professionals, dedicated to serving the residents of Country Meadows.

If you’re considering a move to a retirement home in Pennsylvania or Maryland, please contact us. We would be happy to introduce you to our array of services and any of our locations that most interest you. We enjoy getting acquainted with retirees and telling them about everything that senior living in each region can offer them. Our independent living communities, as well as our personal care and assisted living homes, offer a family-oriented, personalized and caring environment.
