Challenges are a great motivating factor to drive senior fitness. At Country Meadows in Wyomissing, PA, Vi Schultz, director of fitness, challenged her residents to log the most miles biked. “I rode my bike to work most days as they rode the stationary bikes. We made a deal; if they log more miles, collectively, than I, I would throw a party to celebrate. I’m proud to say residents won that party as they logged more than 220 miles in just one month!” she says, adding, “Their support, encouragement and commitment were a great reason to celebrate. I rode for them, and they rode for me. Now that’s teamwork!”
