Love is alive at Country Meadows campuses

By: Country Meadows |

Love is abundant at Country Meadows Retirement Communities campuses all year long. But during February, our Dynamic Living teams plan many events to make Valentine’s Day, and the entire month, extra sweet. From sweetheart lunches to tea parties and pooch smooches, there are many opportunities to ward off loneliness.

Keep scrolling to check out a sampling of the fun!

Forks in Easton campus residents welcomed special valentines from The Center for Animal Health & Welfare. The furry friends came to share pooch smooches with residents and co-workers. No loneliness in sight! Check out this video of sweet canines showing love to our residents and co-workers.

Residents and co-workers of Country Meadows of Wyomissing recently witnessed a beautiful union of two campus canine sweethearts, Gracie and Russel. Gracie (Cox) and Russel (Zavitsky) met as young pups while accompanying their human parents to work at Country Meadows of Wyomissing—a pet-friendly retirement community. They quickly became inseparable and often are found canoodling, playing and strolling the hallways together. May they be happy fur-ever!

It’s a story about the love between Country Meadows residents from our West Shore campus and Speranza Animal Rescue! Throughout the year our residents make and deliver blankets, canine cookies and toys to the rescue. For Valentine’s Day, the shelter sent the sweetest little ambassador, Azalea, to visit along with a beautiful book filled with photos of a resident trip to the rescue, photos of the dogs enjoying their treats and photos of dogs who were adopted and sent to their forever home with a blanket and toy made for them by Country Meadows residents. Azalea is a very special puppy who has mobility challenges due to legs that didn’t develop properly. She was rescued by Speranza and visited all over campus and brought SO much joy.

Hershey campus residents celebrated the day of love at a Young At Heart dance and sweetheart social. Residents and co-workers danced, laughed and enjoyed a happy hour featuring lots of sweet treats.

At our Bethlehem campus’s Valentine’s Day social, residents crowned the holiday “King and Queen” and enjoyed freshly dipped chocolate covered strawberries along a wine and chocolate pairing testing.

At Country Meadows of Leader Heights, a resident is a member of the White Rose Quartet. The group stopped by campus to share a few singing valentine’s with residents.
