Connections Club: Personal Support Beyond a Typical Memory Care Facility

The Connections Club was designed to alleviate feelings of frustration and anxiety that accompany early stage memory loss. A program manager works with each resident member of our retirement community’s memory care facility to develop a personalized plan for support. Using this plan, our Club manager acts as a personal coach to help each resident member through the challenges and joys of daily living.

In order to establish a comfortable routine for Connections Club members, we begin each morning with a members meeting. Members gather in our retirement community’s memory care facility to discuss the upcoming day’s events and activities, while being offered reassurance and direction to help them focus.

During a typical day, Connections Club members will participate in specialized brain fitness programs while integrating with the community for physical fitness and spiritual opportunities. Club members also have the opportunity to experience accompanied outings to restaurants and local attractions.

The structured environment of the Connections Club at our retirement community’s memory care facility provides a sense of comfort and security to residents through memory prompts, cues and emotional reassurance that optimize the independence of Club members.
