Individuals and families may have a new set of questions and criteria when considering a senior living community for themselves or a loved one. And we would agree. We recommend they review the following questions with prospective communities to understand their approach.
- How are you screening your staff and visitors upon entering the building?
- What personal protective equipment (PPE) is your company supplying staff and requiring them to wear? And in what circumstances?
- What infection control methods do you use in:
- Common areas
- Staff areas
- Public restrooms
- Residents’ rooms
- Dining rooms
- Air system
- Company vehicles
- Do you offer telehealth (or at least assistance with it)?
- What is your COVID-19 testing protocol?
- What is your plan when you have a positive resident? A positive co-worker?
- How would you communicate COVID-related information or cases with family members?
