Country Meadow of Allentown beat the Dog Days of Summer with a “pawsome” 2nd annual dog parade. Fifteen of our furry friends came out to visit, share kisses and love with residents, families and co-workers. The week started with residents preparing homemade dog biscuits for the pups, and later this month they will donate more homemade biscuits to Peaceable Kingdom Animal Shelter. Our residents love to give back to the community and what better way than sharing the love through pets. Humans were treated to what else, but “puppy chow.”
Today’s even kicked off with “pup-a-ritas,” an agility course and selfies. Awards were given for:
- Best Dressed – Charlie and Runner up: Little Dude
- Most Athletic – Ziggy as he jumped through our picture frame (without warning)
- Best tail wag – Rusty
- Best Kisser – Roxie
- Most Obedient – Dexter
Donations collected today (pet items) will be donated to Peaceable Kingdom and school supplies collected will be shared with Sammy’s Kindness Korner – community outreach from Stephens Funeral Home. “Sammy” is collecting school supplies for local children in need.
