Residents at Country Meadows can take a trip to Paris, go skydiving and climb Mount Everest…all in one day.
These adventures are made possible through Country Meadows’ recent partnership with Rendever. Using Rendever technology, residents can put on a headset to be immediately transported into immersive experiences such as exploring foreign lands or participating challenges. Rendever offers thousands of places to explore and releases new experiences every week. The company also responds to custom requests.
“We have a World War II veteran who wanted to experience being in the cockpit of a plane again. Through Rendever and their creativity, we were able to recreate that type of experience for him,” says Kim Eichinger, executive director of Dynamic Living, Country Meadows. Residents can explore places they’ve never been or thought they would never see and even revisit favorite places. For more adventurous residents, through Rendever they can virtually experience thrilling activities like zip-lining, climbing Mount Everest or ski jumping.
According to Rendever, Virtual Reality is an amazing technology that can transport individuals anywhere, and experiencing it with others has a magical effect. Participants often open up, share stories, discuss how they’re feeling and are able to find common ground with their neighbors.
Country Meadows residents enjoy the technology and it is fast becoming the most popular “Vibe” program. One resident says, “I’ve never seen anything like that, it’s wonderful!” Another adds, ““It’s just like you’re there, and it doesn’t cost you a lot!
Residents who opt not to don the headset can still participate in the fun adventures as the video experiences are mirrored to a smart television.
Eichinger says, “Any time you raise that level of adventure, you create an environment that is focused more on wellbeing so you can have more conversation and more interaction. It’s good for our brain health when we’re challenged with a different experience.”
