The spring season brings many gifts—warmer weather arrives, colorful flowers peek through the soil, trees awake and, this year, Country Meadows’ doors will reopen to family visitation.
In the coming weeks, our campuses will be able to welcome families and friends to visit with residents in their apartments or outside. Each campus will send individual updates to notify residents and families when these visits can begin. Check here for the latest information on visitation at each Country Meadows location.
For the last several weeks, most Country Meadows campuses have been offering limited visitation in designated areas. Happy tears were shed at our West Shore campus when a Memory Care resident enjoyed a visit with three generations of her family. CBS 21 News in Harrisburg was there to witness the visit first hand and filed this story.
Country Meadows co-workers are excited to welcome back families and friends.
Research from the National Institute on Aging encourages seniors to maintain social connections and remain engaged in life. Visiting with friends and family members helps seniors to remain emotionally involved, warding off depression, social-isolation and loneliness. Plus, it just feels good to see each other and remind seniors that they are loved and valued.
When Country Meadows’ new visitation guidelines are released, visits can be arranged directly with residents —no scheduling through our team will be necessary. Still, safety will remain Country Meadows’ number one priority, and precautions will remain in place so we can continue to offer safe visitation.
- All visitors will be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
- Residents with symptoms will need to postpone any visits until they are feeling better.
- Residents and visitors must wear masks and practice hand hygiene before and after each visit.
- Guests must avoid visiting any other areas or individuals inside the buildings.
If any campus-acquired cases occur, our co-workers will contact trace to determine in which area(s) to test and temporarily suspend visitation during the surveillance period. These are guidelines from the Department of Health for everyone’s welfare. We will continue to keep families informed of any visitation changes through our website and emails.
