Many seniors delay moving into a personal care community because they need some assistance, but don’t require the higher level of care services provided. Now Country Meadows of Lancaster offers an Independent Living option that provides just enough support for residents to live carefree.
The Independent Living with services option does not offer the level of services provided in Personal Care, but includes numerous amenities including three meals per day, laundry, housekeeping and medication management. (See full list below.) Because the campus is licensed for personal care, care associates are available 24-hours daily. Memory support services also are available in a personal care setting.
“Country Meadows is responding to the demand for more senior housing options. This gives us the opportunity to serve a greater variety of residents who want to change the emphasis of their lifestyle toward friendships and recreation,” says Doug Wise, director of Marketing-Country Meadows of Lancaster.
Couples with differing support needs can live together while receiving a blended rate, which makes it much more affordable for them to stay together. “It’s an excellent and much more affordable option for couples where one spouse needs a high level of support and the other does not,” says Wise. “We work to keep couples together through all levels of care, which is something that sets us apart from other communities.”
A robust Community Life program provides residents with a variety of social and recreational activities tailored to their interests each day. “Few people spend time in their apartments here, they have the freedom to be out and about making friends and building relationships with their neighbors,” says Wise. “We also welcome and love having pets here; they are part of the family, too.”
