Hershey, Pa. (June 30, 2025) – Country Meadows Retirement Communities has been named “Best Places to Work in PA.” Through an anonymous co-worker survey, Great Places to Work®, certifies companies where employees feel valued, respected and connected to the company culture. This year, 82% of co-workers from all nine Country Meadows campuses and its sister organizations: Ecumenical Retirement Community and Lifesong Hospice and Palliative Care, completed the survey. The responses provide insights to Country Meadows leadership on ways to support co-workers personally and professionally.
“In every response, we learn from our extraordinary teams about how we can continue fostering a supportive workplace environment and also encourage our co-workers as people,” said Meredith Mills, CEO of Country Meadows and Ecumenical Retirement Community. “As a family-owned and family-involved organization, we are committed ensuring our co-workers feel appreciated, supported and inspired.”
The Great Places to Work Survey assess organizations on five principles—credibility, fairness, respect, camaraderie and prides. In responding to statements, co-workers share their sentiment of the organization overall and express the qualities they are looking for in a great workplace experience.
In this year’s results, 83% of co-workers indicated that they are happy being an employee of Country Meadows/Ecumenical/Lifesong. Co-workers also indicated they feel fulfilled in the work they are doing serving the senior population with 88% stating that they are making a difference and 90% agreeing that their work has special meaning, it’s “not just a job.”
“These results are encouraging because our co-workers bring their compassionate hearts each day into our campuses to make the lives of our residents better and provide families peace of mind when they know their loved one is being cared for by caregivers who genuinely love what they do,” continued Mills. “The survey responses also provided great constructive feedback which we take very seriously. The learnings from these surveys inform ways that we can strengthen our culture, provide comprehensive benefits offerings and acknowledge the work of our dedicated co-workers.”
