Hershey, Pa. (February 6, 2026) – Country Meadows Retirement Communities of Frederick, Maryland has been named a 2026 Communities that Shine Award winner by LifeLoop, the leading whole-person wellness platform for senior living. Country Meadows of Frederick was selected as one of 12 communities nationwide to receive this award for the ways the campus has embraced the technology and used it to elevate programming, increase engagement and improve communication with residents and their families.
Country Meadows introduced LifeLoop at its nine campus communities in Pennsylvania and Maryland in 2025. The department responsible for resident activities and engagement at Country Meadows, Dynamic Living, led the implementation and encouraged resident and family member support of the platform. Since the launch, campuses found that LifeLoop makes it easier for residents to see daily activities and special events through the streamed activity calendars. Residents feel more confident joining programs when they know what is happening and they can make plans with friends and neighbors. Family members have expressed gratitude for the platform because they can stay involved in their loved one’s daily life when seeing photos of the resident participating in activities.
“LifeLoop has helped us foster a real sense of unity with all our customers,” described Melanie Long, Dynamic Living Director at Country Meadows of Frederick. “It has made a meaningful impact on residents’ sense of purpose by empowering them to stay engaged, contribute their talents and remain connected to what matters most.”
“For example, one of my residents was very excited when we started a choir. However, she could not always remember the time or day we met for weekly rehearsals,” continued Melanie. “LifeLoop has been the catalyst for this resident to reconnect to her love of music through constant schedule reminders on our LifeLoop boards around campus and on a dedicated channel in her room TV. Additionally, her daughter has access to the activity calendar through the app and calls to remind her mother about rehearsals and ask how the choir is doing. These are impactful touchpoints!”
LifeLoop has also encouraged co-workers to create meaningful moments of engagement with residents and fellow colleagues. Another example would be the ways the Country Meadows of Frederick veteran population has embraced LifeLoop. Both resident and co-worker veterans have found space to connect and communicate with each other through the platform.
“This recognition is much deserved and validates the time and attention Melanie and her team dedicate to get to know and love each resident that calls Country Meadows home,” said Carol Ditman, Senior Executive Director of Programming at Country Meadows Retirement Communities. “Programs and events are designed with residents’ interests and well-being in mind. The technology has enabled the team to broadcast their efforts, and they see can now see and track their impact. It is a LifeLoop-win when we see a resident who has been hesitant to join now thrive during an activity, or another resident now wants to use his time and talents to lead a class on a topic he is passionate about. It’s incredible to see the campus come to life when the team has the tools they need to execute their vision.”
This is the fifth year that LifeLoop has recognized Communities that Shine. The 2025 Communities That Shine winners represent a growing movement within senior living—one where providers are moving beyond traditional models of care to proactively support whole-person wellness and engagement by leveraging technology to strengthen relationships, personalize experiences and empower staff. LifeLoop shared in their press release that the winning organizations demonstrated measurable outcomes that reflect the power of proactive engagement, including:

- Increased family satisfaction and engagement
