Country Meadows Retirement Communities announces the promotion of Diana Ponterio to Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Ponterio steps into the role following Meredith Mills’ promotion to President & CEO.

Diana Ponterio, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

During her more than 13 years with Country Meadows, Ponterio has held positions with increasing responsibility. In her new role she oversees operations for Country Meadows’ 10 campuses as well as Ecumenical Retirement Community, its non-profit sister company. “I consider it an honor to serve in this new role and look forward to leading our operations teams and mentoring those I support along the way.”

She has worked in senior living for more than 25 years with prior experience leading an organization serving children with developmental disabilities. “I’ve always loved serving others and looking for achievable ways to help them live better lives,” she says. “It’s important to me to be able to serve our seniors by providing a loving, comfortable home and great care. And to help support our team of amazing co-workers to grow in their careers.”

Ponterio enjoys working for the family-owned and –operated organization. “I love the family values and culture; this is a company that truly lives their values and, in this position, I see it as my responsibility to perpetuate that culture throughout the organization.  As we have worked through the worst workforce crisis certainly in my career, we have a lot of new co-workers who need to know who we are and what we value as an organization.  That must continue to be the foundation on which we base all of our work and innovation.”

Ponterio is a Board member for the Pennsylvania Assisted Living Association and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology as well as a Healthcare Administration graduate certificate.

Her years spent with older adults have taught her many lessons, especially one resident who told her, “The years are short and go by fast, slow down and have a glass of wine!”

In her spare time, Ponterio helps raise alpacas on the family’s farm in Lancaster County, Pa. She processes the fiber and enjoys crocheting, reading and being outdoors.
