Tenured success brings fulfillment and gratitude

By: Country Meadows |

Kathy Kissinger never imagined 20 years ago the success and family that Country Meadows would bring to her. Kissinger has held six different positions during her time at Country Meadows, all of which have fallen under Human Resources. When graduating college, though, Kissinger had her eyes set on another career path.

“I wanted to be a sports writer,” Kissinger said. “I had an Associate’s degree in Communications and wanted to work for a local newspaper so bad,” she said. “Then, Central Penn College said Country Meadows had an opening, and I applied. It was the best decision I could have made.”

Kissinger started at Country Meadows as a Human Resources Advertising Representative writing job ads and advertising open positions. Now, Kissinger has worked her way up to being the Employment Manager in Country Meadow’s Home Office.

“What I love about my current position is getting people excited to work at Country Meadows,” Kissinger said. “I love seeing the transition from them not being so sure to me welcoming them on their very first day,” she said.

Not only has Kissinger been promoted several times, she has also earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management while at Country Meadows. “While earning my degree, Country Meadows was fantastic with accommodating my changing schedule as well as helping with some tuition reimbursement,” she said. “Country Meadows really does believe in their co-workers, and it shows.”

Overall, Kissinger has enjoyed her time being able to help people get employed at a company that she has found such success in. “Nothing makes you feel better than offering a job to someone at a company that you believe in. Knowing that you are changing his/her life is an amazing feeling,” she said. “I love being able to walk through our facilities and see people that I have hired years ago do the same thing I have done: grow with the company.”
