Financial Questions

Q: What does your daily room rate include?
A: All personal care supplies, nursing supplies, incontinence care and medical equipment.

Q: Does Medicare pay for this type of care?
A: Medicare Part A will pay for a skilled nursing stay for a benefit period of up to 100 days if you meet skilled criteria. For eligible* residents, Medicare A pays for:

Days 1-20 at 100% of cost (including medications)

Days 21-100 at $152.00 per day co-pay (co-pay may be covered by secondary insurance)

Q: Are there other financial assistance programs available?
A: There are a variety of outside financial resources** to help families with costs, such as:

Tax Deductible Expenses
The cost of skilled nursing care may be a tax deductible medical expense. Depending on the services received and diagnosis, residents may be eligible to deduct their skilled nursing care expenses for federal income tax purposes. Eligible deductions may also be available to a family member of a resident if the family member is able to claim the resident as a dependent for federal income tax purposes. If applicable, this tax deduction could result in a 10-20% discount on the cost of retirement living expenses for eligible residents. Consult your tax accountant or attorney to determine how these rules apply to your individual circumstances.

Reverse Mortgage
If you own your own home, a reverse mortgage may provide an option for raising funds to pay for personal care or skilled nursing care. To qualify, one spouse must continue to live in the home. For information, contact the bank where you do business.

LifeCare Funding Group
LifeCare Funding Group helps seniors raise funds to pay for senior living through the Life Settlement Market. Care & Support Questions

Q: What is the difference between skilled nursing and personal care?
A: A skilled nursing community provides 24-hour nursing care for either short-term rehabilitation or long-term support. Country Meadows offers an individualized plan designed to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our residents. For those who need it, occupational, physical and speech therapies are available, as well as therapeutic diets and activities focused on wellness.

A personal care community offers private and semi-private apartment-style living with help in activities of daily living. From assistance with dressing to medication management, our Personal Care residents enjoy programs customized to provide the support they need, even Memory Care if necessary.

Q: What if my loved one does not recover fully. Can he or she stay?
A: We find some short-term recovery residents need more care than they can receive at home or a family member can provide. Since our community provides all levels of support, our team will work with your family to identify the right care plan for your needs in our community.

Q: How often will my loved one receive therapy?
A: Depending on your loved one's needs, therapy services are provided up to seven days a week. Residents are seen approximately two hours a day. Standardized testing is part of the evaluation process with reassessments completed throughout the progression of therapy. Our primary focus is returning a resident to his or her home or prior level of care.

Q: I may not be able to drive my loved one to and from doctors' appointments. Do you provide transportation?
A: We do. When available, we offer transportation to and from physician appointments and dialysis up to 10 miles from our campus. It's all part of our resident-centered care services.

Q: I'd like to review your state inspection reports. How can I access them?
A: Every year the state surveys our communities by its standards. But every day we raise our own. To be one of the best skilled nursing home centers, we can’t settle for "normal."
