Saving the planet and helping those experiencing homelessness

Country Meadows residents have found a use for plastic grocery bags. They meet every week to cut the bags, smooth them out and crochet them to make sleeping mats. These mats are then donated to Operation Safety Net in Pittsburgh to distribute to people experiencing homelessness. The residents laugh that they are proud to be “bag ladies and gentlemen.”
