Late life mental health: a video guide to help aging loved ones

Part of our “Leading the Way for YOU” Educational Speaker Series

Estimates show that one in five people will experience a mental health challenge during his/her lifetime. As we age, medical conditions and issues with medications can present themselves as mental or behavioral health challenges. Family members might attribute odd behaviors and changes in temperament to mental issues and write them off simply as issues related to aging. This may not be the case.

As part of our “Leading the Way for YOU” educational video speaker series, Dr. Christopher Manetta, D.O., CCS Healthcare, Inc. covers important information for families of older loved ones experiencing behavioral issues in his high-level professional presentation. Topics include:

  • Mental health care myths, models and considerations
  • Insights on how physical ailments may first present as behavioral issues
  • How families can ensure older adults don’t fall through the cracks in obtaining the care they may need

Be sure to view other videos and helpful tips here. We are here for you to answer any questions or provide options for you and your family.

This educational resource is available for our sister, not-for-profit community in Harrisburg, Ecumenical Retirement Community as well.
