New campus gets final finishes and touches

By: Country Meadows |

With construction winding down and critical inspections taking place, co-workers at Country Meadows of Forks in Easton are busy hanging draperies and artwork, placing furniture, unpacking and making plans to greet the first residents who will move in next week. Department heads, a blend of current and new Country Meadows managers, are getting to know each other, setting up their areas and preparing to give residents an extraordinary experience.

The lobby and gathering room are flooded with natural light thanks to beautiful windows.

Final touches like carpeting and stoves in resident rooms are being put in place as construction teams tend to items on the final punch list. This week, the kitchen and dining area are ready for test runs of the dinner service to assure that everything is organized and flows smoothly.

Move in is staggered so co-workers can give plenty of support to each new resident. Residents in Independent Living will move in by July 24, and managers anticipate that licensing will be complete so residents of the secure dementia and assisted living areas can move in during August.

“The remaining rooms are going fast. We’re thrilled to be able to give tours on-site now so our prospective residents can see the rooms and just fall in love with this beautiful facility,” says Patti Ann Rohrbach, executive director at the newest Country Meadows facility. “The lobby has a hotel feel with lots of natural light, ceiling to floor windows and open beams giving the comfort of a lodge.”

Rohrbach says the secure courtyard for memory support residents turned out beautifully and will provide a safe area where residents can walk and enjoy the outdoors.

A grand opening celebration is being planned for September, in conjunction with National Assisted Living Week. In the meantime, Community Life and Fitness Director Brenda Kennedy is meeting with new residents to get to know them and gather their activity ideas. Events already planned include a night out in Easton for dining and theatre, bartending classes, an outing to the Riverview Golf Club and a travel club. She has many other fun activities in the works.
