Dual Directors of Wellness promoted to oversee Mechanicsburg campus

By: Country Meadows |

Sometimes two are better than one. Country Meadows of West Shore is pleased to announce the promotions of Janet Brydon and Deb Johnson to the role of director of Wellness. Instead of hiring one director, both were promoted and are charged with overseeing half of the Mechanicsburg campus.

Deb Johnson and Janet Brydon review spreadsheets during a staff meeting.

Johnson is a long term, loyal co-worker with a strong commitment to Country Meadows. She was awarded the 2012 Nurse of the Year by the Pennsylvania Health Care Association/Center for Assisted Living Management (PHCA/CALM). She views both co-workers and residents as her second family and notes that most co-workers often spend more time with residents than their own family members. Their care is her number one priority. “At Country Meadows we have a puzzle. If we have all the pieces to the puzzle, it becomes a whole picture. We look at those bits and pieces to take care of a resident and when every piece is in place, it makes it easier to go to sleep at night because we know that whole picture has been taken care of.”

While a co-worker at Country Meadows of Hershey, Janet Brydon demonstrated a tremendous work ethic and passion to care for our residents who require Memory Support. She was awarded Country Meadows’ Mary Jo Templin Scholarship that covers expenses for tuition books and lab fees for co-workers working to complete the educational requirements to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN). Brydon joined the West Shore team one year ago and quickly grew into the assistant director of wellness leadership position. She is a shining example that hard work pays off and with hard work, co-workers can build a successful career with Country Meadows.

According to Country Meadows of West Shore Executive Director Dan Mills, “We are proud to promote these two talented co-workers. Promoting from within is a strong practice we encourage at Country Meadows.”

These promotions have created LPN openings at both Country Meadows of West Shore (in Mechanicsburg) and our sister retirement community in Harrisburg, Ecumenical Retirement Community. If you are interested, visit here, and our HR team will be in touch.
