Country Meadows of Hershey is not a typical retirement community. Take our food, for instance. "It's really good," say our residents. They enjoy catching up with neighbors over a delicious home-prepared meal with restaurant-style dining or treating guests in our neighborhood-style Bistro—all on the same campus. While our delectable dining experience fills the appetite, our extensive community lifestyle program fuels the mind, body and spirit. Different than most retirement homes, our residents live beyond their apartments and become as involved as they choose within our campus, the city, region, even road trips to outside Pennsylvania.
When looking for a retirement community, families set out seeking a safer and easier environment—what all retirement homes provide. But our residents say what sets us apart is our full array of recreational activities, social events, fitness, lifelong learning and spiritual enrichment programs.
For each level of care, there's always something to do. And it's not just for residents. Here, families and friends are invited to join us for a meal, activity or an event of their choosing. Check out our calendar of events and activities here.
On a daily basis, our residents are continuing to learn and expand their horizons with activities like gardening, art classes, current event discussions to cooking demonstrations and outings to the Hershey Symphony or the Hershey Area Playhouse (conveniently located right on our campus!).
We embrace an inclusive interfaith approach to spiritual care and welcome all religious and cultural backgrounds. With full-time chaplains, we offer pastoral counseling and conduct religious services, plus our chaplains are available for residents' spiritual needs at their convenience. We also provide opportunities for residents to attend worship services in the local community along with on-campus interfaith religious services.
Physical activity helps seniors live a better quality of life. With a dedicated fitness staff, we promote healthy lifestyles with individual and group programs from SilverSneakers® fitness classes, Arthritis Foundation's Tai Chi and walking clubs to one-on-one training and interactive bowling, golf, tennis and other computer games.
Every individual has value and has much to contribute regardless of abilities or age. Whether giving of their time, experience or talents, our residents volunteer, participate in on-campus activities like preparing meals for Meals on Wheels recipients and find many ways to share their lifetime of knowledge with others and help make life better for everyone.
Here, residents delight in seeing old friends' familiar faces and welcome the chance to make new ones. They meet neighbors who love the same activities, enjoy the same pastimes, have the same taste in music or books and for many Hershey area natives, share the same stories.
Schedule a personalized tour any day of the week to experience life at our Hershey retirement community. We'd love to learn more about your life and how you can continue your lifestyle here.
