Of the retirement homes in York, Pa., life at Country Meadows of Leader Heights (York-South) is full and vibrant. Our residents enjoy meeting and getting to know each other at daily happy hour events, taking trips to local restaurants, sporting events, theatres and points of interests and taking up new hobbies. It’s all part of the campus’ robust Community Life program that provides ample opportunities every week.

Picnic at Cousler Park

It was a perfect day for a picnic and everyone enjoyed delicious food and beautiful sunshine at Cousler Park.

Volunteer Luncheon

We love celebrating our volunteers! This year, Country Meadows thanked them for all their time and hard work with a delicious luncheon.

Winter Wonderland

Our campus is a wonderland this winter, outside AND inside! Winter décor and musical entertainment fill the common areas, and Rocky & Eileen Zappia were voted Winter Wonderland King & Queen.

Duck Hunting

When deer season started in Pennsylvania, our residents got in on the action, “hunting” for their dinner at a paper turkey shoot.

Horse Farm Visit

Residents visited a horse farm to enjoy a day of horse play!

Codorus Park

Residents enjoyed at outing to Codorus State Park. The group also took to the water on a pontoon boat.

Flag Raising

Residents and co-workers invited local VFW and Boy Scout groups to raise a new American flag which once flew over the United States Capitol building in Washington, D.C.

Longest Day

Guests of all ages enjoyed an on-campus carnival to mark the Longest Day—a fundraising opportunity to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association held annually on the summer solstice. The Longest Day


Leader Heights residents enjoy learning about and testing the latest technology. Using virtual reality, residents took turns making “virtual visits” online to numerous sites including the Vatican, White House and wherever the resident wanted to go!
