Mindful Walking

It was a beautiful day to focus outward on the sun and scenery while our residents focus inward, practicing mindfulness for their mental and emotional well being.

4th of July Celebration

Happy 4th of July! Residents had a blast doing patriotic photo shoots with props and backdrops, playing games, shucking corn, and celebrating!

Echos of Nature Program

A special presentation was held at the Frederick campus! Residents were able to learn about and interact with different species of animals. It was a wild time!

Practicing Random Acts of Kindness 2018

Residents delivered blessing bags to the American Red Cross, Olsen House for Men in Recovery, Frederick Rescue Mission and Serenity Treatment Center. The people they interacted with that day truly appreciated their kindness!

Governor George Leader's 100th Celebration

On Jan. 17, 2018, Country Meadows founder, Gov. George Leader, would have celebrated his 100th birthday. In his honor, residents competed in a poetry reading from Gov. Leader’s book Healing Poems. Marion Greer Knowles won with a reading of “T’was An Ordinary Day.”

Solar Eclipse

Residents and co-workers check out the rare solar eclipse. Yes, they wore eye protection!

Lake Seneca Trip

Residents enjoyed a trip to Black Hills Regional Park where they took a pontoon boat ride. A guide taught the group about wildlife, ecology and pointed out gorgeous scenery.

Cunningham Falls State Park

Residents enjoyed a hike and country ride at nearby Cunningham Falls State Park.

Practice Random Acts of Kindness

Every April, Country Meadows residents and co-workers take special note to practice random acts of kindness in honor of organization co-founder Mary Jane Leader. Residents visited six different locations to give goodie bags to local emergency responders, patients at an oncology center, a rescue mission, Red Cross and even a few random pedestrians.
