You'll be pleasantly surprised we're not your typical retirement community in Bethlehem. First off, we have really great food. Simply ask our residents. With restaurant-style dining, our residents enjoy catching up with neighbors over a delicious home-prepared meal or grabbing a quick bite at their convenience through our "At Your Service" call-in option. While our delectable dining experience fills the appetite, our extensive community lifestyle program fuels the body, mind and spirit. Different than most senior citizen housing, our residents live beyond their apartments and become as involved as they choose within our campus, the city, region, even road trips to outside Pennsylvania.
Typically one of the main reasons our residents and their families first considered a retirement community in Bethlehem was for an easier, safer environment—exactly what standard senior citizen housing provides. But, one of the key reasons they chose Country Meadows was to get back to living life through our full array of recreational activities, lifelong learning, social events and spiritual enrichment programs.
There's always something to do at our Bethlehem campus, for every level of care. And it's not just for residents. At any time, friends and families are invited to check our community calendars and join us for a meal, activity or an event of their choice.
Physical activity helps keep seniors independent and full of energy. With our dedicated fitness staff, we promote healthy lifestyles with individual and group programs from walking clubs, Arthritis Foundation's Tai Chi and SilverSneakers® fitness classes to interactive bowling, golf, tennis and other computer games and one-on-one training.
Because our residents never stop learning, each day we offer enrichment programs like music lessons, art classes, cooking demonstrations, current events discussions, a field trip to a museum or a lecture by a local professor.
Regardless of their abilities or age, each resident still has much to contribute. Whether with their time, experience or talents, we help involve residents in on-campus life, arrange volunteer opportunities and find many ways to connect them with others to share their lifetime of knowledge and help make life better for everyone.
We embrace an inclusive interfaith approach to spiritual care and welcome all religious and cultural backgrounds. With full-time chaplains, we offer pastoral counseling, conduct religious services and availability for residents' spiritual needs. We also provide opportunities for residents to attend worship services in the local community in addition to our on-campus interfaith religious services.
At Country Meadows, our residents meet neighbors who love the same activities, have the same taste in music or books, enjoy the same pastimes and for many Bethlehem natives, share the same stories. Whether it's seeing familiar faces of old friends or welcoming the chance to make new ones, our residents feel they are in good company.
