Moving into Country Meadows can be very rewarding. Determining how best to fund such a transition may, however, prove challenging to some. There are many benefits and other options available to our residents and their families that can dramatically ease the financial aspects moving into a Country Meadows Retirement Community.

Country Meadows has partnered with organizations to provide a variety of financial options to fit most needs. The following information presents some of the options available to our residents and their families. Members of our marketing team can provide additional information.

Tax Deductible Expenses
The cost of assisted living or personal care services may be a tax deductible medical expense. Depending on the services received and diagnosis, residents may be eligible to deduct their complete assisted living or personal care expenses for federal income tax purposes. Eligible deductions may also be available to a family member of a resident if the family member is able to claim the resident as a dependent for federal income tax purposes. If applicable, this tax deduction could result in a 10-20% discount on the cost of retirement living expenses for eligible residents. Consult your tax accountant or attorney to determine how these rules apply to your individual circumstances.

Veterans’ Benefits
If you are a wartime veteran or a surviving spouse of a wartime veteran, the Aid & Attendance pension benefit, through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, may help pay for assisted living or home care services. Country Meadows offers assistance to residents and their families throughout the entire application process. Reverse Mortgage
If you own your own home, a reverse mortgage may provide an option for raising funds to pay for personal care or skilled nursing care. To qualify, one spouse must continue to live in the home. For information, contact the bank where you do business.

Companion Living
Sharing a suite with another Country Meadows resident is another affordable option in retirement living. Companion Living provides all the features and benefits offered at a Country Meadows community at a lower monthly rate. Residents are matched using common interests that may serve as the basis for a friendship. Further, Companion Living eases the transition to Country Meadows by providing guidance of a roommate who truly understands the emotions involved in making the move into a senior living community.

LifeCare Funding Group
LifeCare Funding Group helps seniors raise funds to pay for senior living through the Life Settlement Market. The liquidation of a life insurance policy through a Life Settlement can act as a funding bridge to help cover the costs of retirement and senior living when other assets such as stocks or a home are under-performing or difficult to sell.
